Methodology
Each job posting is classified as remote, hybrid, or onsite using a two-phase detection system:
Phase 1 — Location field: Keywords like “remote”, “work from home”, “hybrid”, “on-site” in the location string.
Phase 2 — Job description: Scans the full description for signals including LinkedIn tags (#LI-Remote, #LI-Hybrid, #LI-Onsite), phrases like “hybrid mode”, “minimum of 3 days in the office”, “fully remote”, “distributed team”, “in-person”, and “office-based”.
Postings with a concrete city but no remote or hybrid signals are classified as onsite. Every active job with a location or description is classified — unknown is always zero.
Country, role family, and company breakdowns require a minimum of 30 active postings for statistical reliability.
Classifier versioning: All active postings are classified using the current classifier version. Historical reclassification is not preserved — if the classifier is updated, prior snapshots regenerated from the same data may show different numbers. This report always reflects the latest classification, not a point-in-time historical view.
