Social Finance, LLC seeks Staff Software Engineer, Computer Service in Seattle, WA:
Job Duties: Architect and implement scalable and secure cloud platforms that prioritize self-service using infrastructure-as-code to provide teams with abstractions for compute, storage, networking, and authentication on AWS in a resilient, redundant, and recoverable manner. Provide thought leadership and drive technical strategy, both adhering to existing and defining where applicable new best practices. Lead complex projects with a broad impact across the organization, ensuring alignment with company goals. Tackle diverse and complex technical challenges by applying creative problem-solving and sound judgment, considering tradeoffs and making principle-based decisions. Take on increased responsibility for projects that impact multiple teams and stakeholders. Own the resolution of escalations and drive projects to successful outcomes. Identify potential risks associated with projects and communicate them to management to ensure alignment and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, security teams, and product managers, to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Embrace a fail-fast approach, iterating quickly to learn, adapt, and drive innovation Identify areas for improvement in existing processes, infrastructure, or tools, and take the initiative to drive change. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, driving the adoption of best practices and new tools to enhance our platform. Support junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping to elevate teamwide technical practices. Part-time telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from Social Finance offices in WA.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance or related fields and (3) three years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements: 1) experience in Cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS Services, cloud infrastructure best practices) (36 months); (2) Go or Python (36 months); (3) Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) (36 months); (4) CI/CID pipelines; (5) Jenkins or GitLab; (6) Linux/Unix System Administration; (7) Monitoring & Observability; (8) Bash/Shell scripting; (9) Ticketing/Documenting systems; and (10) design, implement and optimize secure, reliable network systems. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Part-time telecommuting is an option. Hybrid work from Social Finance offices in WA.
Salary: $220,500.00 - $242,550.00 per year and standard company benefits.
